Qualification

Essential: (1) Doctoral degree in agricultural sciences or related basic sciences with specified post-Ph.D. experience (varies by post, typically 10-15 years minimum); (2) 5-10 years experience as Principal Scientist/Professor in Pay Level 14 or equivalent; OR Eminent Scientist category with 15+ years experience and national/international awards, academy fellowship, 10+ high-rated publications, and multi-institutional project leadership; OR 20-25 years post-Ph.D. experience as Programme Leader/Director in CGIAR or international organizations. (3) Evidence of publications/activities demonstrating broad vision in agricultural research. Desirable: Research management, policy experience, leadership in multi-disciplinary R&D initiatives.</qualification> <parameter name="eligibility">Must be Indian citizen; age limit: below 60 years as on 23.10.2026 (closing date)

Pay

Research Level-14 (Rs.1,44,200 – Rs.2,18,200) with rationalized entry pay of Rs.1,44,200/- for most positions; Deputy Director General (Agricultural Engineering) and Director (IVRI): Rs.2,10,000/- fixed or Rs.2,10,000/- + Rs.11,250/- special allowance
