Overview

CWC 2026 in one table

CWC runs scientific storage for food grains and other notified commodities across India, plus logistics infrastructure - Container Freight Stations, Inland Container Depots, Land Customs Stations and air cargo complexes. That is why its technical posts lean so heavily on grain storage, fumigation and pest control.

Exam pattern

202 questions, 230 marks, 180 minutes

Every post sits one online exam with separately timed sections - when a section's clock runs out, you move on. The mix of sections depends on the post.

Pass marks that can sink you

Professional / Subject Knowledge and the Descriptive Test each need 40% (UR) or 35% (OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen). Every section also has a cut-off, then the total.

The descriptive test

2 questions, 30 marks, 30 minutes, in English - “Language & Comprehension Abilities”. It needs its own pass mark, so practise writing to time.

Scores are equated

If the exam runs in several sessions, scores are normalised by the equi-percentile method and reported to two decimals.

Syllabus

Professional knowledge syllabus

CWC calls this a broad, indicative syllabus that may change slightly in the exam. AM (General) and JE (General) have no professional paper - their exam is reasoning, quant, English, general awareness and the descriptive test.

18 to 28 years as on 15 November 2026 for all eight posts - you must be born between 16 November 1998 and 15 November 2008. SC/ST get 5 years' relaxation, OBC (NCL) 3 years and PwBD 10 years, subject to an overall cap of 55 years.

Is there an interview for CWC Junior Executive?

No. Junior Executive (General) and (Technical) are selected on the online test plus document verification, and appointed on the online test marks. Assistant Manager posts have an interview of 30 marks, and the final merit gives the online exam and the interview an 85:15 weightage.

Is there negative marking in the CWC 2026 exam?

Yes. One-fourth of the marks for a question is deducted for every wrong answer in the objective tests. A question left blank carries no penalty.

What is the application fee for CWC 2026?

₹1,350 for UR, EWS and OBC candidates (₹850 application fee + ₹500 intimation charges). SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and women candidates pay only the ₹500 intimation charges. The fee includes GST, is non-refundable, and must be paid separately for each post you apply for.

Can final-year students apply?

No. You must hold the final mark sheet or certificate of the required qualification by 15 November 2026. Candidates in the final year or final semester are not eligible.

Where will the document verification and interview be held?

In Delhi. Outstation candidates are reimbursed AC III-tier rail or bus fare by the shortest route (or the actual expense, whichever is less) on producing the original tickets.

Is there a service bond?

Yes. Selected Assistant Managers sign a bond of ₹1,00,000 and Junior Executives a bond of ₹50,000, each to serve the Corporation for at least two years.
