Who can sit this exam

Eligibility for Fisheries Extension Officer

A fisheries degree is the direct route, but the notification also opens the post to fourteen different Master's degrees — including plain Zoology.

The direct route

Bachelor's degree

  • A Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) from a recognised university.

Qualifications as per GO (P) No 01/2019/F&PD dated 29.01.2019 (SRO No 90/2019).

Age limit

18 – 40 years

  • Only candidates born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2008 (both dates included) are eligible.
  • Usual relaxation applies to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities — the exact limits are in Part II of the Gazette notification (General Conditions, para 2).

Or a Master's degree in any one of these

From a recognised university

  • Fisheries Science
  • Industrial Fisheries
  • Mariculture
  • Marine Biology
  • Coastal Aquaculture
  • Aquatic Biology and Fisheries
  • Aquaculture
  • Aquaculture and Fishery Microbiology

  • Qualifications recognised by Government orders as equivalent to those prescribed — and higher qualifications that presuppose them — are also sufficient. The Government order must be produced when the Commission asks for it.
  • Degrees and diplomas from UGC-approved universities, or institutions established by an Act of Parliament or a State Legislative Assembly, are acceptable under G.O (M.S) No. 526/PD dated 17.07.1965.

Scale of pay

As notified by Kerala PSC

₹50,200 – 1,05,300

From application to appointment

How Kerala PSC will fill this post

Applications are behind you. What is left is a confirmation, an admission ticket, and one paper that decides the order of the ranked list.

  1. Online application

Submitted through the One Time Registration profile on keralapsc.gov.in. Closed on 05.08.2026 at 12 midnight.

  2. Exam confirmation

You must submit a confirmation for writing the examination through your OTR profile. Applications without it are rejected absolutely.

  3. Admission ticket

Generated and downloaded from your profile. It opens about 15 days before the test, and the window is published in the Examination Calendar.

  4. The written test

Kerala PSC conducts the selection through a written, OMR or online test. This is the paper the whole ranked list is built on.

  5. Ranked list

Published by the Commission and valid for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three, subject to a new list being published.

  6. Advice and appointment

Candidates are advised from the list against the notified vacancy and any further vacancies reported while the list is in force.

Don't lose the seat to paperwork. Kerala PSC sends these alerts to your profile and your registered mobile number: the exam confirmation window, the admission ticket, and any request to upload documents proving your qualifications. Miss the confirmation window and the application is rejected outright, whatever your preparation looks like.
  • If the caste or community claimed in your application differs from the SSLC book entry, a Gazette notification must be produced along with the Non-Creamy Layer or Community Certificate at certificate verification.
  • Profile corrections made after the last date for applications do not reflect in the submitted application — they take effect only from the date of correction.
  • Under Rule 22 of the KPSC Rules of Procedure, applications with bogus claims about qualification or experience invite disqualification or debarment.

One paper decides the order. Rehearse it ten times.

About this batch

Ten rehearsals before the one that counts

Selections are built on practice, not luck. Ten full-length papers on the latest pattern, revision notes to close the gaps they expose, and instant scoring so you always know where the marks are leaking.

Full exam simulation

Each of the 10 mocks runs the length of the real paper — so exam day feels like your eleventh attempt, not your first.

Built for this post

Questions are written for the Fisheries Extension Officer syllabus, not recycled from a general fisheries question bank.

Notes to revise from
